Apple Tree

I got this idea from the net. I first draw a tree on the drawing paper, then get the children to colour it with water colour. Abigail colour hers all by herself and Joshua with 30% of my help. He can paint quite well... then leave it to dry.

I've prepared some apples shape in red paper earlier. When the paper was dried, the children stick the apples on the tree.

I help Joshua to put the glue as he can't control the amount of glue that he needs yet.
Abigail did it all by herself.

sticking... sticking...

Then put them in the toilet roll

It's done! :)

Autumn

This is one of the craft that I like best! Probably autumn colours is my favourite and whatever that comes along, I will find favour in it.

I personally love this piece of art very much. When I look at it, I feel very nice! :)
I first prepare the vine and the branch and colour them with pencil colour. Then I punch the leave in 4 different colours, red, orange, yellow and green. Then I get Abigail to paste the leaves on the branches randomly, mix with different colours and then some leaves on the floor.

Autumn was the first piece, the next one I'll do will be Winter... follow by Spring and Summer. Then I'll frame up the four season of the year to conclude Abigail 2011's project. :)

Do good!

Lesson 5 is about the story of the Good Samaritan.

The Parable of the Good Samaritan

25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
After the story, Abigail has to find the way for the Samaritans to the Inn then we did a good job badge.

Pasting Craft for Toddler

Abigail was down with viral infection. During the days she was at home, she done this craft.

Materials
1. Creep paper (few colours)
2. Paper

Steps
I drew a flower on a white paper.
Prepare the creep paper by cutting into smaller pieces and roll it.
Then get Abigail to paste the creep paper on the flower.
I first start with yellow colour with her after completed, red one, then green one. She put glue and do the pasting all by herself.
After completed the craft and let it dry up. Then I paste it into a bigger paper.
I let her choose some sticker to decorate the card.
Lastly, I hold her hand to write those wording.

This craft is very simple and it's suitable for toddler to do. Abigail was 3.5 years old when she did this and she can do it all by herself. In fact the rolling part, she can participate too. If you have the time, can get the child to roll the paper and do the pasting all by the child. I believe the child can handle and perhaps they will enjoy doing it. :)
